Met a friend at the bar during the week for a happy hour cocktail. I had read about the bacon bourbon old fashioned and knew I had to try it. It lived up to the hype! Would order it again. We got the appetizer sampler to share and this try three things. Had I just ordered the burnt ends, I would have been equally satisfied. They were the best thing on the platter. The Kahula pig rolls and hickory smoked wings with BBQ sauce were good but the twice smoked and seasoned brisket ends stole the show. The portion was generous. Of course the cornbread with honey butter was delicious. Yes, a little dry, but that's what the butter is for :) A 3.5 but rounding up to 4 stars.

Excellent service and the dinner combo for two went perfectly with our happy hour smoked wings, and burnt ends! Got lucky with parking in front of the restaurant on the corner - definitely recommending to friends who frequent the area

This place was smaller than I thought it would be but packed much flavor and lots and lots of portions. Usually when you order steak frites, they slice the steak for you and it's a lot thinner but here they literally give you a whole steak that's worth the money and I probably bet you won't be able to finish it (in a good way). If you are considering coming here with a large party, I would call first because of the size of the place, but I'm pretty sure they can accommodate you. Our service was nothing special, but our waiter did accommodate our big party to the best of his ability. Will definitely be back

Epic Smokehouse was a last minute decision that we were very happy about. We enjoyed the filet, the crab stuffed salmon, brisket, ribs, and bbq pork. All were great to excellent, with the exception of the ribs, which were very good but not nearly as exceptional as the rest. Two important things to point out. The red sausage and the mashed potatoes. This was literally the best sausage I've ever had. It had a rich flavor that grew as I chewed it. Swallowing the sausage led to a peppery flavor that was spicy but rich. Just excellent. Conversely, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. Genuinely not worth getting. We also loved the panko mac & cheese. Very yummy. And their house made ginger beer made an excellent mule. I'm giving them 5 stars but if anyone from the restaurant reads this, we felt our service was a bit on the lacking side, compared to the food. We were only one of three tables being served and while our server was very nice and gave us excellent recommendations, he was slow to arrive, waited until our bar drinks had been made to take our order, and was slow to come ask about dessert/boxes/check. Again, he was very nice and knowledgeable. But we would have liked to get our order in, especially if there had been a full restaurant also ordering.
